General
The MPC X is Akai's music production flagship. This monster of a console functions as a fully independent, standalone device - meaning that you don't even need your computer - and features a 10.1-inch colour multi-touch display screen that grants access to a mass of editing options. Thanks to the clear encoder and control layout, the MPC X guarantees a smooth and intuitive workflow, which is only enhanced by the fact that the 2.0 version of the MPC Software is now directly integrated into the hardware. Not only does the MPC X work in standalone mode, it also functions as an extra controller platform for your Mac or PC, where you can use the software as a DAW plugin.
For the Intuitive Artist
The MPC X offers such a satisfying way to work, it could easily redefine the way you make music. The bank of sixteen velocity-sensitive RGB pads and the control elements alongside the touchscreen, have been seamlessly integrated with the onboard software, opening up full creative freedom in a single shot. And, since this console is primarily powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, mobile projects are fully supported. As well as the pads and encoders, sixteen Q-links, each with OLED displays are provided and can be linked to various parameters for quick access and can be fully tweaked and adjusted to complete a custom setup.
A Complete Production Hub
With the MPC X, Akai's aim was to create a device that could serve as the hub of any production studio. So, as well as every function, this unit supplies every input and output you'll ever need. Hook it up to your studio equipment via the combo XLR/jack, RCA and Hi-Z inputs, and the eight balanced jack outputs. To power your condenser microphones, 48V phantom power supply has been built in, and so every step of the production process can be closely monitored, a set of interactive VU meters have also been included. Lastly, all of this potential can be expanded even further with up to 10GB of samples by adding a 2.5 inch SATA SSD or an HDD card.
