Designed to replace the original Pocket Operator K.O., this groovebox actually strays quite far from the PO concept and looks more like a combination of a classic Akai MPC console and an old-school calculator. At the same time, it's a seriously potent bit of kit, much like the Teenage Engineering TP-7 and CM-15.

Wat een fantastisch leuk ding is dit! Ik ben er aangenaam door verrast. Wel was het "fadergade"-verhaal even spannend (zou alles gewoon werken?), maar dit was een 2e lichting en alles doet het naar behoren.

De workflow van de EP-133 was even wennen (je hebt niet echt een scherm en sommige dingen gaan met toetsencombinaties), maar inmiddels vind ik mijn weg met mijn ogen dicht. Erg nice ook dat er zoveel goede samples op geïnstalleerd staan. (TIP: deze kun je met de TE sample tool backuppen, zodat je ze altijd terug kunt zetten als je ze per ongeluk verwijdert).

Ogenschijnlijk komt de EP-133 over als speelgoed-achtig, (en dat is het misschien ook), totdat je alle mogelijkheden ontdekt en het een zeer serieus apparaat lijkt te zijn. Echt een aanrader!
