General

EMG has long been a giant in active guitar element land. To cater also to the guitarist who likes more classic looks and sounds, EMG offers the Retro Active series. The design and sound are true to traditional humbuckers, with the Super 77 producing a very solid and vicious sound with its ceramic magnets, not out of place in a range of rock genres. Yet you have the advantages of active elements: low impedance with a clean, noiseless signal.

Retro Active Super 77 with Quick Connect

All quick connect parts are included (see images), so you can get started right away. The potentiometers have a short shaft, suitable for ST-style guitars and guitars with a relatively thin top, among others. An element switch is not included. If you choose a passive switch, for example the one already in your guitar, you will have to attach it by soldering. EMG also offers separately available element switches with Quick Connect.
