General
In 1959, Fender added a rosewood fretboard to most of its guitar models. It proved to be a popular decision and little has changed over the years, except perhaps the thickness of the wood. Rosewood added a solid playing feel as well as a touch of warmth and edge to the overall sound. Fender's American Professional series of guitars replaces the American Standard series and features models with rosewood fretboards. In fact, this Fender American Pro series Telecaster sets a new standard with its rosewood fretboard and new Deep C neck profile that offers optimal playing comfort and a great sound.
American Pro Telecaster: the best of both worlds
The rosewood fretboard has 22 narrow, tall frets that make it easier to press the strings down and improves the intonation so that chords sound good all over the neck. The ashtray-type bridge with removable cover adds a vintage appearance and sound and is equipped with three compensated brass saddles that ensure excellent intonation. There's also a Treble Bleed circuit on board which means that the sound will remain bright even when the volume is turned down.
V-Mod
Naturally, the American Pro Telecaster is equipped with top-quality pickups. In fact, the V-Mods were specially developed for this series and each pickup has a unique mix of alnico magnets, depending on its position. They deliver a high output with vintage warmth and the bright, crisp sound Fender is famous for. The pickup in the neck position gives you that bright, clean sound, while the one in the bridge position is more twangy and great for shredding. Every Fender American Pro Telecaster, including this 3-Color Sunburst RW model, comes with a Fender Elite Molded Case.
