The SPL Phonitor 3 pulls the best possible sound out of your headphones, guaranteeing minimal distortion and a massive dynamic range courtesy of a 120V DC audio rail: a high-quality power supply that can also be found inside SPL's high-end equalisers, compressors and preamps. But what really sets the Phonitor 3 apart is the extremely extensive Crossfeed Matrix. When you listen to audio through headphones, you technically get an unnatural stereo image because the left and right channel are separated, which isn't the case when you're listening to speakers. The Crossfeed Matrix sends part of the left channel to the right channel and vice versa, mimicking the natural stereo image of a speaker system. This is a welcome perk for audiophiles who want to enjoy their music to the fullest, as well as for mixing and mastering engineers who need to fully optimise their tracks for different speaker systems.
