The VOX amPhone Twin combines the ease and the fantastic guitar sounds of the popular amPlug series with a comfortable first-rate set of headphones by Audio-Technica. In other words, it's a VOX amPlug built into headphones - could it get any better than that?! Now you can enjoy the crystal-clear cleans and crazy crunch of the famous American Twin guitar tube amp anywhere. It's just a question of plugging the cable into your guitar, adjusting the sound, and enjoying. Whether you're sitting, standing in walking, whether you're at home or on the road, with the VOX amPhone Twin you'll always have the perfect practice partner on hand.
Three effects and AUX input
Just like with the VOX amPlug Twin, you'll also find controls for gain, tone and volume on the amPhone Twin. Depending on the amount of gain, you can create tight, bright cleans or rough crunches, and everything in between. Use the tone control, for instance, to change the sound from warm to bright. The amPhone Twin is more than that though, because it also has three excellent effects built in: reverb, chorus and delay. Connect your cell phone, iPod or MP3 player to the AUX input, and you can even play along with your favourite music or backing track! The VOX amPhone Twin is powered by two AAA batteries that can last up to 16 hours.
Can also be used as regular headphones
Just switch off the amp portion and you can use them just like any conventional headphones. Unscrew the included 6.35mm jack plug adapter and you can connect the cable to any music source with a 3.5mm input. You'll enjoy fantastic sound quality, thanks to the two powerful 40mm drivers, which have a frequency range from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Moreover, the ear cushions are nice and comfy, so you can listen to music for hours without being uncomfortable. To top it off, the amPhone Twin can be folded up so you can easily store it in your backpack or gig bag.

Het resultaat? Ik speel niet alleen veel vaker op mijn elektrische gitaar, maar gebruik de amPhones ook in combinatie met mijn elektrisch-akoestische gitaar. Ik gebruik een aux-kabel om bijvoorbeeld een tutorial op YouTube te volgen of om op mijn smartphone een app met metronoom-functie aan te zetten.
Het klopt inderdaad wel dat de effecten niet helemaal super zijn, maar dat vind ik geen enkel probleem. Het bedienen van de knoppen is inderdaad lastig met de koptelefoon op, maar ook dat vind ik geen echt probleem. Ik stel de amPhone heel even in op het goede volume voor het oefenen en dan werkt het echt super.
Het is een lichte koptelefoon, dus misschien dat de amPhone daarom wel eens als 'goedkoop plastic' wordt ervaren. Het is misschien ook wel een kwestie van persoonlijke voorkeur. Ik heb liever een lichte koptelefoon.
Kortom: een super oplossing voor het oefenen en door de optie om met een aux-kabel een smartphone/laptop aan te sluiten ook absoluut een aanrader voor beginners!

- Goede oplossing om te oefenen zonder iemand te storen
- Door AUX-in kun je meespelen met muziek
- Hoofdtelefoon geeft goed geluid bij gebruik van muziek.
- Tone en Gain werken goed
Negatief
- Chorus, Reverb en Delay zijn slecht waarneembaar
- Knoppen lastig te bedienen tijdens gebruik
- Hoofdtelefoon voelt aan als "goedkoop plastic"
