The Masterwork Custom Hi-hat 14" Rock is a variation of the hi-hats from this series and does exactly what it promises. If you are not familiar with the Masterwork brand, definitely give this one a try! You might be positively surprised, especially by the value for money.

Not just for rock music

Despite the 'rock' title this cymbal bears, this hi-hat is also definitely all-round usable. The main difference with the regular hi-hats from this series is that this cymbal has more attack, bringing articulation and stick definition more to the fore. When you play the hi-hat open, it has a bit more presence in the high end. Useful if you make music where the sound is very massive and you want the cymbals to pierce through it clearly.

Quality

Despite the fact that cymbals from the Custom series are sold for a relatively low price, this says nothing about the quality, however. The cymbals are made entirely by hand in Istanbul, by craftsmen who have years of experience in the trade. All Masterwork cymbals are made from a unique B25 alloy, which consists of 75% copper and 25% tin. There are even traces of silver here and there! Because Masterwork manages to keep the price relatively low, this brand, and this series, is very interesting for both beginners and advanced players.
