General
The Byzance series has many timbre models. This 14-inch hi-hat belongs to the Tradition series and is characterised by its dark sound and short sustain. You don't necessarily have to use this hi-hat with Byzance cymbals, as it goes perfectly with other cymbals. So in all respects an all-rounder, but especially widely used in the music styles of jazz, funk and reggae.
Meinl Byzance series
Meinl's Byzance series is a professional cymbal line with a more traditional sound. This series features various tone colours, such as Traditional, Brilliant, Extra Dry and the Tradition models to which this hi-hat belongs. Byzance cymbals are made of a B20 alloy (80% copper, 20% tin), which gives them a unique sound characterised by the presence of many low frequencies. In addition, they are hand-hammered.
