General

The 14-inch hihat from the Modern Essentials series is the cream of the crop for your drum kit. Whatever style you play, the rich, warm and open sound is a wonderful addition to your drum kit. Vinnie Colaiuta, the co-designer, says: "The sound is just thick enough, but not overpowering. It's a bit more 'chocolate' than the classic 602s". Versatility is a strength of these hihats and the Modern Essentials series in general. They are dynamic and articulate well within a wide range of genres.

Modern Essentials

Vinnie Colaiuta (1956) was not just another choice for Paiste; this drummer has a track record that many drummers dare not even dream about. The list of artists Colaiuta has worked with is huge, a sampling: Joni Mitchell, Sting, Billy Joel, Tori Amos, Nik Kershaw, The Beach Boys, Tony Banks and many others. Besides this hihat, of which a 15-inch model is also available, the Modern Essentials series also includes splash, crash, china and ride cymbals.
