As one of the 'big four' cymbal manufacturers (together with Zildjian, Paiste and Meinl), Sabian has long since proven that their great reputation is entirely justified. But while many cymbal manufacturers tend to forget beginning drummers (or drummers on a tight budget), Sabian has always catered to professionals and beginners alike with many excellent choices in both high-end and budget-friendly cymbals.

Sabian SBR 13-inch hi-hats: made of brass

Sabian's SBR line (which stands for 'Sabian Brass') is their least expensive line of cymbals, but you wouldn't guess that by the sound of them. These 13-inch hi-hats owe their bright, focused sound to a special hammering and lathing process. While they produce a nice, tight sound when closed, they certainly don't lack body when you open them and can produce a lovely, sharp bark. These 13-inch hats are of the same quality as their 14-inch siblings, the only difference being the slightly higher pitch.
