General
Specifically designed for miking up the snare drum, the Lauten Audio LS-408 Condenser Microphone captures minimal sound from the rear and features on-board high-pass and low-pass filters to help wipe the signal clean of crosstalk. The frequency response has also been tuned to match snare drums, giving the sound a 100 to 200 Hertz boost and supporting a solid foundation while preventing that 1 kilohertz dip that can make any snare sound off. A 4 kilohertz and 112 kilohertz peak in the sonic capture also injects a crisp dose of the snare wire sound, removing the need to point a second microphone at the resonant head. All of this results in defined and modern snare sound that requires minimal EQ-levelling.

Wrote the following about Lauten Audio LS-408 Snare Mic Instrument Microphone
Heel handige mic. De voornaamste toegevoegde waarde van deze microfoon op is dat de bleed, met name van de hi hat, minder is. Ik schat zo’n 30-50% minder hi hat ten opzichte van een gewone cardiode microfoon. Dit is met name fijn voor livegeluid, waar de snare mic gaten niet gaat. Je levert er verder niks voor in als het gaat om de kwaliteit van het snaregeluid zelf.
