General
The Valeton VLP-400 gives guitarists and vocalists countless ways to get creative with their sound. This multi-track sampler features two independent loopers that can be set to Serial Mode so you can seamlessly flip between two loops via the fitted footswitch while retaining full control over the structure of the song. In this mode, the second loop automatically starts playing when the first loop is over. If you then re-activate the first loop while the second loop is playing, the second loop is immediately paused and the first loop will start playing. In Free Mode, loop 1 and loop 2 are completely independent, which means they basically serve as two separate loopers that can be used at the same time, with the footswitches giving you full control over the recording and playback.
The VLP-400: Full Creative Freedom
The VLP-400 also features intelligent overdubbing capabilities, allowing you to record over existing tracks multiple times where, in terms of duration, each overdub needs to be a multiple of the duration of your current loop. When this is not the case, the footswitch indicator LED blinks blue to let you know that the recording is automatically stopped as soon as the duration checks out. Prefer to do things the traditional way? Simply activate the stacking function by holding down the customisable switch. Valeton has mounted a set of assign buttons and assignable footswitches so you can quickly add seven different effects to your loops. When you use any of these effects, the footswitches are backlit in purple. You can also double-tap the customisable switch to boot up or stop the loop and the built-in drum machine.
Advanced Drum Machine Inside
This uber-flexible looper has been also been equipped with an advanced, high-sample-rate drum machine that serves up a wide range of kits, supporting everything from pop and rock to jazz, metal and electronic music. When you record a loop, it's automatically synchronised to the tempo of the drum machine so that everything lines up perfectly. Simply set the drum machine to Auto Mode and you won't have to worry about a thing. The Valeton VLP-400 Multi-Track Sampler can store up to 99 projects, has a total recording time capacity of 12 hours, has been finished with various inputs and outputs, including an instrument/mic combo input, inputs for external footswitches, MIDI, and a USB port for firmware updates, audio file import and export, and project management.
