General
Promark's SM6 SPYR marimba mallets are, as the name suggests, 'very loud'. Especially in the upper octave and a half of the marimba, they give a nice clear articulated tone. The optimum range of these mallets is therefore C4 to C7. The 1.25-inch head is covered with yarn and the birchwood stick has a length of 16.75 inches. The SPYR mallets were developed in collaboration with Kevin Shah and Tony Nunez. These mallets will definitely last you a while - they wear out much less quickly than most other mallets.
