If you use a C417 microphone in a windy environment, you need to shield the wind as much as possible. The sound of popping and wind can be very annoying and this is why we recommend that you use a W407 windscreen. The microphone is optimally shielded against this type of sound in that way and this allows you to also use your microphone outside.
