The CME Xkey is a practical miniature MIDI keyboard, and a perfect visual match for your iMac or Macbook, as its tight, minimalist design was directly derived from Apple's keyboards. With two octaves worth of keys, this MIDI controller offers you everything you need to play melodies and chords on the road or in your home studio.
Technology of the Xkey
The Xkey features 25 standard-size velocity-sensitive keys, mounted on a low-profile chassis, so your computer keyboard is still easily accessible. The MIDI keyboard offers a number of interesting features, including pressure-sensitive pitch bend and modulation controls, polyphonic aftertouch and a practical sustain control. You can connect the exceptionally flat (16 mm) CME Xkey to your tablet, laptop or desktop computer by means of an included USB cable.

De 25 toesten zijn in combinatie met de pitch up en down voldoende om met 1 hand partijen te spelen. Ben je een muzikant die meestal 2 handig speelt dan raad ik je minimaal de 49 toetsen versie aan. Om minder de pitch knop te hoeven gebruiken, had ik beter de 37 keys versie kunnen kopen. De 25 key versie is echter makkelijker mee te nemen.
De aanslaggevoeligheid en aftertouch doen hun werk prima. Bij gebruik met Logic pro X kun je aftertouch standaard gebruiken, Logic neemt je dan werk uit handen.
De gratis editor maakt het mogelijk om de CME naar eigen voorkeur in te stellen, denk aan oa snelheid van aanslaggevoeligheid, rise time, vibrato en pitch enz
Alhoewel het snoer niet in de weg zit, had ik toch liever de Bluetooth versie gehad.

Min första tanke när jag hade fått hem och provspelat denna för första gången var att jag genast ville beställa CME's Xkey 37 också. Det är helt enkelt en superportabel kvalitetsprodukt som jag verkligen rekomenderar alla musiker och musikskapare!

That's because the Xkey Air 25 and the Xkey Air 37 are completely wireless MIDI keyboards! These Bluetooth-compatible versions of the regular Xkey keyboard still have the same low latency, so there'll be virtually no delay between the stroke of a key and the generation of sound.
