The wireless CME Xkey Air 25 is just as revolutionary as the original Xkey. The regular USB model Xkey set itself apart with its polyphonic aftertouch, highly comfortable keys and its remarkably compact frame. And now, with the arrival of the Xkey Air, the practically perfect mobile MIDI keyboard is more portable than ever before. No need for cables, this instrument connects to your device via Bluetooth - and it does so without an increase in latency! Simply pair it up with your iPad, iPhone, Mac, Android device or Windows PC, and you're good to go.
Xkey Air: minimalist and elaborate at the same time
When looking at the slim, 1.3lb Xkey Air, all you see are its 25 full-sized keys, and the row of Smart Buttons on the left side. These buttons allow you to control various practical functions, such as octave change and pitch bend, and there's even a sustain control. The most remarkable feature, however, is the polyphonic aftertouch: simply keep a key pressed and add a vibrato effect, for instance, by gently moving your finger. That even works for each key individually!

- The Xkey Air makes use of Bluetooth 4.0 / 4.1. Almost every Mac computer, iPad/iPhone (excluding the iPad 2 and older), modern Windows computer and modern tablet support this Bluetooth protocol. If the Xkey doesn't work with your computer or your Bluetooth signal it too weak, then the separately available CME WIDI BUD can be used. Smartphones and tablets without with a USB port will require suitable USB OTG adapter as well as the WIDI BUD.

Keyboard opladen, WIDI Bud in de Windows PC, keyboard aanzetten, even wachten en het keyboard is beschikbaar voor de DAW (Cubase in mijn geval) en spelen maar.
Ik heb ook nog geprobeerd om het keyboard zonder WIDI aan te sluiten, via BLE op de PC. Dat lukt niet. Het keyboard wordt wel zichtbaar bij apparaten, maar er komt geen keyboard beschikbaar in Cubase. Een beetje suf om een Bluetooth 4.0 keyboard te maken dat geen gebruik kan maken van native Bluetooth 4.0. En dan vervolgens een dongle verplicht te maken voor 59 euro.

That's because the Xkey Air 25 and the Xkey Air 37 are completely wireless MIDI keyboards! These Bluetooth-compatible versions of the regular Xkey keyboard still have the same low latency, so there'll be virtually no delay between the stroke of a key and the generation of sound.
