Remember the QuNexus? That bite-sized USB keyboard made for on-the-road use? While the Keith McMillen K-Board is a very similar bit of kit, there's one huge difference: the K-Board is a lot easier on the wallet.

The Keith MCmillen K-Board USB Keyboard: Specs

Basically, getting the K-Board going is simply a matter of hooking it up to a laptop or computer using the included USB cable. The K-Board isn't very picky when it comes to compatible DAWs and operating systems, covers two octaves and features octave buttons, a sustain button and 25 backlit, touch-responsive pads with polyphonic aftertouch - where even the angle at which they're pressed has an effect on the sound.

Road-Proofed

While most manufacturers carry out tests to find out how strong and durable their products are, Keith McMillen like to take things one step further. To test the K-Board, a tour bus was driven over it and guess what? The keyboard was actually able to handle the enormous weight, and since it also doesn't mind the occasional coffee spill, you can safely stuff it in a backpack and not worry about a thing.
