General
Create music and control effects without touching your iOS device! It sounds unreal, but with the IK Multimedia iRing - a wireless controller for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - it's all possible. Hand movements and gestures control the effect, instrument and other parameters of your music apps. As such, the iRing allows you to create fantastic tracks in a unique, playful way. Using the IK Multimedia iRing and your iOS device, it's even possible to control the DAW software on your computer.
The iRing
The iRing is a double-sided ring that can easily be clasped between your fingers. One side features a linear pattern of three dots, while the other side has a triangular pattern. Point the iRing at the front-mounted camera of your iOS device, and the iRing FX/Controller app determines its exact location. The software is also capable of recognising the iRing's patterns, enabling you to control six different parameters by moving your hands over the screen (X & Y axes), and from and towards the screen (Z axis).
The controller software
An iRing FX/Controller app - which can be downloaded for free via the App store - is the driving force behind this unique control system. The software converts your movements into MIDI information, which is then transmitted to your music apps. It also features an Inter-App Audio multi-effect that can be controlled by means of the iRing as well, and adds fantastic audio effects to your favourite audio apps. No fewer than sixteen effects are at your disposal, including filter, delay, compression, reverb and wah.
The music software
The iRing does not merely function as a controller, but can also be used to create music, with a little help from the iRing Music Maker app. Download this app - it's free! - and you'll be able to produce loop-oriented tracks. Traditional instrumentalists will find plenty of use for the IK Multimedia iRing as well, as the controller is also compatible with AmpliTube, SampleTank and GrooveMaker 2.

Met de gratis apps valt voor zo ver weinig creatiefs te doen. Als je het als een controller voor effecten wilt gebruiken moet je een audio interface hebben.
