The Beatstep was a great success for Arturia. In fact, many enthusiastic users are still working with the original Beatstep. Arturia is not a company that likes to rest on its laurels, though, so they've come up with a promising successor: the Arturia Beatstep Pro USB pad controller. The first thing you'll notice about the Beatstep Pro is its increased size. This pad controller can do a lot more, and that functionality requires room.
Characteristics of the Arturia Beatstep Pro
Arturia's Beatstep Pro is a top-quality controller with high-grade pads and knobs. The Pro model has four new sections, each with its own distinct colour: control mode, sequencer 1, sequencer 2 and drum. The two sequencer tracks are exactly what they appear to be: two independent melodic step sequencers that open up a world of possibilities. The drum section provides you with a 16-track drum sequencer that allows you to create drum parts using an external synth. As there are plenty of CV outputs available on the rear panel, you can easily use the Beatstep Pro to control your analogue synthesizers. With a simple MIDI cable, you can also connect the controller to any other MIDI device. All in all, the Arturia Beatstep Pro is a pad controller with true potential!

Arturia seems to be aware of this issue but its been reported for 2+ years and not fixed yet.
