Dtronics DT-RDX Controller for Reface DX

Those of us who have had the privilege to walk the face of the Earth for a while will remember the Jellinghaus DX Programmer: a big rare blue device covered in rotary pots designed to control the unwieldy alphanumerical display and bank of membrane-buttons offered by the Yamaha DX7. While the much more recent Yamaha Reface DX is way more accessible, users can still sometimes want for a little more hands-on control. Now, by adding the support of a Dtronics DT-RDX controller, your Reface DX (essentially the modern, and thankfully cheaper version of the Jellinghaus) can be blown wide open.

Features of the Dtronics DT-RDX

Since the included splitter shares power with both the DR-RDX and Reface DX, and the Reface can be placed in the frame of the DR-RDX, you get a complete and clean single unit. While the Reface DX does offer FM control, you now get the joy of making envelope adjustments with old-school feeling rotary encoders, especially since the envelopes (with rates and levels) are a little more complex than the more standard ADSR envelopes of other synthesizers. So, if you're the proud owner of a Reface DX, then the DT-RDX is simply a must-have.
