Radial X-Amp active studio reamp

This orange reamp box enables you to play back tracks you've recorded previously with a DI box over one or two amplifiers and/or effects. The Radial X-Amp active studio reamp converts a +4dB line signal into a high-impedance signal, which can then be sent to your amp or pedal. As such, you're able to adjust your amplifier sound while you're playing, and move your microphones around until you've found the perfect setup for your recordings. The X-Amp makes line signals suitable for guitar effects, which means they can also be used for synthesizers.

Characteristics of the Radial Engineering X-Amp

The X-Amp's circuitry uses a unique class-A design that has been optimised for guitars, but it can also be used with bass guitars, keyboards, drums and vocals. Radial's reamp box is equipped with a balanced XLR input with an LED peak indicator and a volume knob. You can plug your amplifiers and/or effect pedals into its two jack outputs, which have been isolated from the transformer to counter noise and humming. To bring both amps into phase, there's a 180-degree polarity switch.

Double ground lift and an ultra-rugged housing

In addition to a ground lift switch for the input, the X-Amp features an internal ground lift for output 2. If needs be, you can use it to eliminate ground loops. Like all Radial products, this reamp box is built like a tank. Its rugged metal housing has a unique bookend design that keeps both the internal components and the external controls safe, and has been finished with a durable powder coating. On the bottom, you'll find a thick rubber pad that prevents the X-Amp from moving around when it's placed on a vibrating amp, but also provides electrical and mechanical isolation.
