A radio receiver is designed to tune into a single radio station. The SOMA Messeiver deliberately does the opposite: rather than acting like a traditional receiver that tunes you into a single station, it picks up a wide range of radio frequencies simultaneously. The result is an ever-changing mix of radio stations from all over the world, with the weather, sunlight and other natural factors determining exactly what you hear. This is actually how radio receivers first began: rough and chaotic. That’s why the Messeiver has also been given the vintage look of those old, brown radio sets.

SOMA has used high-quality components to achieve this. With a special coil and an old-fashioned neon tube, the Messeiver delivers a sound and a look you won’t find in a standard radio. The wooden casing with brass inlay is handmade, meaning every unit feels and sounds just a little bit different. Four antenna inputs give you the freedom to experiment with different reception combinations. The receiver has its own speaker so you can hear what’s coming in straight away in style, but you can also connect it to record via the 6.35 mm jack output. Or simply use it as a speaker via the handy jack input. In short: no two listening sessions with the SOMA Messeiver are the same, and that’s exactly the point!
