The MicW i436 is a compact microphone plug for use with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. This condenser microphone allows for glorious recordings, making it ideal for sound engineers and musicians. Do you need to quickly check the frequency or sound level in a room, or quickly record vocals or instruments? With the MicW i436 you can do it all! This microphone works with various optional apps, such as Sound Level Meter, Real Time Analyser (RTS), and Recording.
MicW i436: accurate performances
The MicW i436 has an omnidirectional pickup pattern and a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, resulting in accurate, distortion-free recordings! Its 4-pole mini jack connector allows for plug-and-play use. As it's been already calibrated in the factory, you can get started using this microphone straight away!

The MicW i436 is an accurate miniature microphone. It features a robust case which adds to its life span. The i436 kit comes with a 2m extension cable, a split cable, a clip, a windscreen and a robust carrying case. Furthermore, the microphone operates in accordance with IEC61672 class 2 standards for sound pressure meters.

Ik heb de MicW i436 gehad, maar door het niet accuraat (genoeg) meten van de microfoon hem weer verkocht.
Ik heb de i436 gebruikt zowel met de iPad (i.c.m. Smaart Tools, in-app aankoop voor AudioTools van Studio Six Digital) als mijn MacBook Pro (Smaart v7 Di).
Uit mijn metingen valt de MicW i436 al af bij de 9 kHz (als referentie genomen de Neutrik 3382) en de geluidsdruk blijft achter totdat je de gekalibreerde waarde (in mijn geval 94 dB) bereikt. De verschillen in geluidsdruk van de i436 t.o.v. twee andere microfoons (Neutrik 3382 en iSEMic 725TR) bedraagt zo'n 0,5 dB - 0,6 dB.
Eigenlijk is het niet meer als een leuk hebbedingetje, wil je metingen gaan doen waar je wat aan hebt (en zowel op je mobile device, laptop of PC die wil gaan uitvoeren) zul je 100,- Euro extra moeten gaan uitgeven aan de iSEMic 735TR.
Op mijn weblog heb ik inmiddels het een en ander neergezet met de metingen en hoe te gebruiken met Smaart.:

Binnenkort komt het article online met nieuwe metingen tussen de eerder genoemde meetmicrofoons, namelijk: de MicW i436, iSEMic 735TR en Neutrik 3382.
(trouwens een pluim voor de importeur hier in Nederland, Fred van Eijk, die heel behulpzaam was het zoeken naar oplossingen)
