Besides crushing the bits, the sample rate can be set to tweak the pitch and general vibe of the effect, and this signal-chewing little stompbox kindly comes including a 9.6DC-200mA power supply.

The Mainframe: Crushed it Up

With the Filter switch, together with the provided Filter Freq and Peak pots, you have full control over the characteristic, distorted side-noise of the bit crusher so it can be fine-tuned in detail. The Blend pot sets the balance between the crushed and dry signals, and for fully effective hands-free control over certain parameters, an expression pedal can be hooked up to the EXP input and assigned using the EXP/Present button, making you master of the bit-crushing universe - or just the humble yet devastating EHX Mainframe.
