General
Together with guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert, Ibanez designed the AF2 Airplane Flanger, perhaps the most unique flanger there is at the moment. Other pedals often have a flanger with a constant and predictable pace. The AF2, however, has an organic, unpredictable flange with a changing pace that makes it sound a lot more surprising than most other standard flanger pedals.
Taxi or take off:
The AF2 has two different modes. In Taxi mode you can set the pedal fully to chorus of flanger, or a combination of the two, by using the manual knob. The Takeoff mode adds a new dimension to the Taxi mode by adding unpredictable intervals to the flanger and so creating a sort of Jet sound, hence the name Airplane Flanger. Check the video to see an impressive demo by Paul Gilbert.
