General
The long-awaited follow up to the revolution that was the original HeadRush Pedalboard has finally hit planet Earth. This is the HeadRush Prime: a potent multi-effect processor that's ready to rule the guitar, bass and vocal universe. This unit grants access to a mind-boggling library that comes pre-stacked with a mass of guitar effects, amplifier simulations, speaker cabinet simulations, and even microphone simulations. With the Prime, you can create your own preamp or amplifier clones and load them in as impulse responses (IRs). Vocalists are also treated to the full gambit of effects, including the industry-leading Antares Auto-Tune. In short, the HeadRush Prime is probably the most powerful, the most multifaceted and the most realistic-sounding floorboard FX processor in existence.
Design the Ideal Guitar & Vocal Sound
The core of the HeadRush Prime is its spacious 7 inch touchscreen, which is in full colour; boasts high-resolution graphics; has been backlit; and is ultra-responsive. Naturally, this results in super-smooth ease-of-use: simply build your own effects chain by scrolling through the reams of effects and adding them to your virtual board. On stage, the touchscreen also provides all of the most essential info, especially when it comes to tweaking parameters in real-time using the built-in expression pedal in Hands-Free Mode. As you'd only expect, the Prime also comes packed inside a solid, road-ready steel chassis loaded with twelve footswitches, each with dedicated RGB indicators and OLED scribble-script displays. So even in a dark corner of the stage, you'll be able to trigger the right effect at the right time and quickly flip through your carefully crafted presets. Basically, everything has been set up to support the simple, fast and intuitive control needed to create fully custom and supreme sounding rigs from the ground up.
Amp Cloner & Wi-Fi for HeadRush Cloud Preset Sharing
The HeadRush Prime also comes equipped with patented cloning technology, so the extensive effects library that already comes built-in can be expanded even further. The HeadRush Amp Cloner is able to capture the sound, dynamics, and above all the feel of your favourite boutique, vintage, or modern amplifiers, preamps, and even distortion, overdrive and fuzz pedals with surgical accuracy. Note: cloning fuzz pedals is a skill that other profilers have struggled to achieve, so this is quite something. A Wi-Fi module has been integrated as well, supporting a direct link with the all-new Headrush Cloud, which provides a free service for all HeadRush users where they can browse through exclusive rigs and clones made by members of the HeadRush community, including well-known artists, before trying them out and downloading them.
Speed Up the Learning Process Using Built-in Practice Tools
The HeadRush Prime is the world's first ever multi-effect processor that's able to connect to Dropbox via Wi-Fi and load up tracks to help users speed up the learning process. As soon as the track has been loaded in, you're able to isolate, loop and slow down trickier sections. You can even raise or lower the pitch by a semitone at a time to quickly learn songs in different keys. The Prime can also be linked to any Bluetooth-capable phone, tablet or laptop, giving you access to a range of different streaming and digital tutorial services. Whether you're busy figuring out a complex guitar solo or need to nail a new cover song ready for the next rehearsal, this smart board hands you the tools to get the job done quickly. For writers, a looper has also been supplied, where you can record loops with a maximum length of five minutes and layer as much twenty minutes of audio at once.
A Built-in Audio Interface & Useful Connections
When hooked up to a computer, the HeadRush Prime can be selected to function as a 24-bit/96kHz audio interface for recording. There's even a reamp option on board - select it, and you can run the guitar part you've just recorded from your DAW through the Prime, colour in the guitar sound with an amplifier, then run the treated sound back to your DAW to re-record it. This multi-board has also been fully equipped to support seamless integration with any live rig or home studio setup. Lined up along the rear panel, you'll find a combo XLR and 6.35mm jack port with a 48V phantom power switch for condenser microphones, as well as XLR outputs complete with a ground-lift switch, a stereo FX loop and MIDI in and out ports, fully kitting this model out to support the four-cable method.
