A great all in one guitar amp sim and effects pedal board! Love the classic Boss design, which feels robust whilst being light enough to easily move around or throw in a bag.
It’s pretty straightforward and pairs nicely with the Boss software when connected to a laptop, allowing easy editing of presets.
Whilst it doesn’t come with a Power Supply Unit, having the option to power with batteries makes it a really portable solution you can take anywhere - for me, the sofa with minimal cables.
I bought this before the release of the Katana Go, which I’m now thinking of replacing it with as I don’t really use the wah/expression pedal and the small form factor is preferable to me.
Most importantly, it sounds good and is a convenient way to have a multitude of sounds at your disposal. I wasn’t overly impressed by the reverb section, but good enough for simple guitar tones. In my opinion, very good value all in all.

Na heel wat spullen in huis te hebben gehad , waaronder een aantal zeer behoorlijke, gaat deze ME-90 voor mij blijven. Vele Bosspedaaltjes in één groot pedaal (als je ze allemaal individueel zou kopen ben je algauw enkele duizenden euro's kwijt) en een 'easy to use' gebruiksgemak doen me niet twijfelen. Bovendien gebruik ik hem op 2 manieren: ofwel recht in een interface met het stereovoordeel in een aantal delays en reverbs, ofwel in de 4 kabel methode waarin ik mijn lampen preamp gebruik in plaats van de AIRD versterkermodellen maar dan wel alle effecten kan gebruiken voor en na Send/Return (via de Boss Tone Studio).
Super easy en altijd goed klinkend. Einde van de chaos aan patchkabeltjes en ditto voedingen.
Soms mag het ook wel eens goed en gemakkelijk zijn :-)

Ik ben enorm blij met de sound, ik gebruik voornamelijk alleen de effecten en heb het aangesloten op mijn versterker (Fender Deluxe Reverb Tonemaster). Het instellen is super eenvoudig en ik heb nu een enorme selectie aan effecten, ik ben ze nog allemaal aan het ontdekken. Maar ik ben heel happy met de overdrive sounds en ik kan het zo instellen dat het niet te onderscheiden is van de Tube screamer die ik heb (ik gebruik relatief weinig gain). Alle modulatie effecten zijn top en de Delay is minstens even goed als de DD-8 van Boss die ik heb. Qua geluid niet te onderscheiden en meer type delay.
Ik heb ook nieuwe effecten leren waarderen zoals de T-Wah en de Harmonizer, dit soort effecten zou ik nooit in een los pedaal hebben gekocht maar heb ik nu in de toolbox zitten :).
De Boss ME-90 is relatief licht van gewicht (zeker lichter dan een aantal klassieke pedalen op een board) dus voor mij ook makkelijk mee te nemen. De ingebouwde amp simulaties klinken ook goed, die gebruik ik vooral als ik 's avonds laat via de hoofdtelefoon speel. Vooral de Diamond (vox) en de Tweed vind ik heel mooi.
Ik sta nu toch echt op het punt om mijn losse pedalen te verkopen en wil met de opbrengst nog een Boss Katana MKII EX kopen zodat ik de versterker types uit de ME-90 kan gebruiken als pre-amp en dan de Katana alleen als Power amp te gebruiken.
