General
The Crazy Tube Circuits Sidekick Jr features the same modulation, reverb and delay effects as its big brother but takes up far less pedalboard space. To dive right in, the modulation section of this space-saving stompbox is home to a subtle ensemble chorus that doesn't come with any unwanted wobbling, a dimension modulation, and a mild flanger with a classic metallic undertone - and that's far from everything.
The Sidekick Jr: Strong '80s Vibes
When it comes to the built-in delays, you're getting a good-old, deeply ambient tape echo and a tight digital delay, while in terms of reverb, the Sidekick Jr sets you up with two banks, where bank A includes the classic hall, spring and plate reverbs and bank B has been loaded with authentic eighties-style flavours named shimmer, exciter and gated. The various delay and reverb effects can be used independently and in combination with any of the modulation effects. Hook up the XT Sidekick Jr Footswitch (not included as standard) for the option to activate the mod effect independently from the reverb and echo.

Opzienbarend cool pedaal. Goede flange, reverb en delay, maar de
“Shimmer” geeft een heel mooi etherisch geluid, een bedje wat goed gebruikt kan worden bij een sectie in je lied waar lange akkoorden gespeeld worden. Wel veel kleine knopjes en lettertjes dus niet zo heel snel te veranderen, live. Klinkt beter op gitaar dan Rhodes.

Net zoals zijn grotere broer de Sidekick, dezelfde hoge kwaliteit maar dan met meer effecten. Enig nadeel is de modulatie waarbij het volume bij het aanzetten iets luider gaat, wel is de modulatie heel goed. Een aanrader en plaatsbesparend op pedalboard. Na 19 maanden functioneerd de Sidekick (originele versie) nog steeds prima, dus ook goed qua betrouwbaarheid.
