Inspired by the on-stage setup of Angus Young, the Crazy Tube Circuits Heatseeker pedal performs like an AC/DC-flavoured sonic torpedo. Over on the right, you have an ode to a classic wireless system, which might sound a bit nuts, but when you know that the Schaffer Vega Diversity System was the well-guarded secret of all of the big guitarists back in the seventies, then you'll also know that its magic came from an analogue preamp/tone-enhancer circuit. That very circuit has been fully emulated, right here and, just like the original, it takes any average guitar sound, packs it with more dynamics and rich harmonics and spits out something properly iconic.

The Heatseeker: Thunderstruck

Over on the left of the CTC Heatseeker, we find a fully analogue simulation of the sound and response of three preamp-and-power-amp section taken from three legendary Marshall amplifiers: the JTM45, 1959 Super Lead and JMP 2203. Voiced by a 100% analogue JFET circuit that operates at an impressive 27 Volts, this pedal sets you up with a mountain of headroom plus the authentic, elasticated tone that helped weave the very soul of hard rock. Meanwhile, the WoS (which stands for Wall of Sound - obvs) does everything that you'd expect it to do: lay down a thunderous low-end and ferocious high-mids - basically everything you get when you build a wall of amplifier stacks.
