Beefing up the iconic Boss Katana Series, this 60-Watt-strong combo bass amplifier doesn't just supply the solid basics, but fully adaptable sound to back up virtually any bassist, no matter their go-to flavour. Practical functions like the Power Control switch mean this combo can be set up for home rehearsals as well as gigs, while three sound modes swing the output from classic and natural, vintage tinted bass sound with a lightly driven edge; to a bright and round, overtone-rich bass sound with a broad dynamic range; or an even wider dynamic range with a tight response - perfect for basses with a longer scale length and in lower tunings.

After setting the gain and volume via the amplifier section, the powerful four-band equaliser section can be tweaked to knead your bass sound into shape. Even the high and low-mid frequencies can be adjusted in detail. Four effects sections offer six standard effects for colouring in the result, including compression and overdrive, distortion or boost, and via the FX1 and FX2 channel, anything from an octaver, to a chorus, or a choice of delays or reverbs can be deployed at will. Finally, to fatten up the bottom-end and tighten up the high-end, the clean sound can be mixed in via the Dry Level Blend Pot

Extra Options

Besides a single 10 inch custom speaker, the Katana 110 Bass combo is also home to a tweeter that can be kicked in whenever the output is in need of a little extra bite. To support any external stompboxes, an effects loop can be found lined up on the rear panel, and if you need to hook up an external preamp, it can be plugged in via the power amp input. Even a pair of headphones can be plugged in for late night solo rehearsals, and the same output can also be used for direct recording.

On stage, the balanced XLR output can be set to send a pre, post or direct bass sound to the live mixer and to counter any noise and hum caused by ground loops, simply flip the ground lift switch. Below the balanced output, three extra ports are provided: an AUX input for connecting up external audio gear via a mini-jack cable to play backing tracks through the amp during practise sessions; a USB 2.0 port for direct connection with the Boss Tone editor which gives bassists the power to tweak the sound of the Katana 110 Bass directly from a PC or Mac; and you can even adjust this amp via your phone by adding the BT-Dual Bluetooth module (not included) and expand control by hooking a Boss GA-FC pedal (not included) up to the expression pedal port.
