Cramming flexible sound, convincing amp emulations, and a bank of effects into a combo big enough to sit on a coffee table, the Boss Dual Cube LX Bass Amplifier is the ultimate rehearsal, recording, and live-streaming tool. Flip through five built-in amp emulations: Super Flat, Flat, Vintage, Modern and Rock and carve out wide-ranging tone, spanning the uncoloured output demanded for recording, a touch of bite to support slap-bass techniques, or something more aggressive for heavier work. While this amp is small, you're getting 10 Watts of power - that's 5 Watts per five-inch speaker as well as wide, stereo sound.
The Boss Dual Cube LX Bass Amplifier
Once you've selected the amp style, the tone can be kneaded to shape via the on-board compression and drive controls before being wetted up with some effects, including a wah, chorus, and flanger, and once done, your custom creation can be saved to the internal memory to be called up later. Another useful tool is the Rhythm Guide, which stacks up nine different rhythm types, each with three pattern variations to help hone timing and tighten up your playing. All of this is backed up by the high-quality sound delivered by the two speakers, whether you're playing along to backing tracks or one of the built-in beats.
More Than a Rehearsal Tool
While the Cube LX has certainly been set up to support training sessions, it's also gig-friendly thanks to the pair of XLR line outputs fitted around the back which can be connected up directly to a PA system. When it comes to recording, this amp can be easily linked to a computer or mobile device via USB or using an i-CUBE-Link (not included), and another sweet bonus is that this little chunk of hardware can be battery-powered, so it can literally be taken anywhere.

1. qua volume met de akoestische gitaren te kunnen meedoen
2. niet afhankelijk zijn van een stopcontact.
Beide doelen werden ruimschoots gehaald.
Verder: klinkt erg goed voor zo'n klein ding (2x 5" speakers).
Lekker draagbaar.
3-voudige toonregeling doet ook echt wat, naast nog de keuze voor amp type.
Chorus is wat mij betreft ook goed bruikbaar (voor bijv een fretless-feel).
Drive en galm/delay doet het, maar wat mij betreft overbodig.
Is ook meteen een (stereo) DI voor je bas!
Een minnetje: bij lage volumes, zoals ik hierboven aangaf (in je woonkamer en zo) is tie prima, maar als je 'm wat harder zet overstuurt wel vrij snel.
Wel een aanrader!
