General
In need of a hyper-reliable combo, loaded with two 10 inch speakers, a mass of sound-tweaking option plus a small mountain of effects and practical features? Look no further than the Boss Katana 210 bass amp. Part of the acclaimed Katana family, this bass amplifier comes with three voicings: Vintage, Flat and Modern, so you can go for some warm and retro, valve-style output; something more tight defined; or stick to a classic round and balanced bass sound - all of them backed up by plenty of dynamics and rich overtones. Via the Blend pot, you can mix the natural sound of your bass in to add more fullness and clarity, while the Gain pot can be pushed up to fray the edges a touch and the Volume pot dictates the power.
The Boss Katana-210 Bass: Flexible EQ Controls + 24 On Board Effects
In true Boss style, there's plenty more on offer, starting with an extremely flexible four band EQ section, where you can even determine where the low-mid and high-mid frequencies are emphasised. Next to that, the Katana-210 Bass serves up no-less-than twenty-four on board effects, including an ever-essential built-in compressor for tightening up the definition; plenty of drive options; a touch wah; an octaver; a fat phaser; and, naturally, a nice little stack of reverbs and delays.
Call Up Your Favourite Sound at Any Moment
Once you've dialled in the perfect sound, you can save it to be called up later and, if you need to push the volume right down for smaller gigs, then simply engage the Power Control and take the output down to just 1 Watt. Even if it's two in the morning and you want to drill that riff you're obsessed with, simply plug in a set of headphones and avoid bugging your neighbours. And the same output also functions as a handy direct output so you can hook this combo up to an audio interface and record your licks and lines. For even more power, an extra 4 Ohm speaker cabinet can be linked via the dedicated output found on the rear panel, automatically muting the built-in speakers and transforming the Katana 210 into a tight amp head.
Gain More On Stage and In the Studio
This combo amp also keeps things super-practical, so the balanced XLR DI output on the back panel can be connected directly to the PA system during live gigs and has been coupled with a pre/post/direct switch as well as a ground-lift switch, handing you full control over your live sound. Your external effect pedals can also be linked up via the fitted effects loop and the AUX input can be used to play through backing tracks from a phone or audio player. A USB-A port has also been fitted and supports digital recording as well as the editing options provided by the Boss Tone Studio app - whether you have a PC or Mac and, so the setup can be expanded, the Katana 210 Bass also supplies a dedicated port for an expression pedal and the GA-FC foot controller (neither included) and is compatible with the BT-Dual Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adapter (not included).
