The Fender Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe: A Dip in the Mississippi
Since he's firmly seated at the helm of new-wave blues, it only makes sense that Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram is treated to his very own, blues-ready Signature Fender Telecaster Deluxe.
Traditional Roots
Hailing from Clarksdale, Mississippi, and picking up a Grammy nomination along the way, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram has grown into one of the leaders of next-gen blues. Bearing a unique blend of natural, charismatic warmth, a potent set of pipes and fierce, genre-transcending technical skills, Ingram has already shared the stage with icons including Eric Gales, Buddy Guy and Keb Mo. The twenty-three year old upstart has managed to weave contemporary R&B into his work, and widen both the scope and the audience for blues as a whole - little wonder that Fender has sought him out to develop a custom model.
A Classy Blues Machine
Ingram has taken the standard Tele Deluxe and dipped it in a classy Mississippi Night paint job: a glistening purple lacquer that takes inspiration from the sky over Clarksdale on a winter's night. Piling on the playability, this signature model features a roasted maple neck with a comfy V-profile and a rosewood fretboard with a 12 inch radius, while the set of exclusive Fender Custom Kingfish Pickups guarantee classic and yet contemporary blues tone framed by tight basses, punchy mids and soft, sweet trebles. And, so that same sound can be planted on any model, Fender have kindly released a custom pickup set on the side.
