With the NS-1X Noise Supressor, Boss introduces a next-gen noise gate. This tight stompbox is the ultimate solve when it comes to noise-free performance and pure, nuance-packed sound. Via three different modes, this efficient box basically wipes the signal clean while maintaining every bit of your original tone. In Reduction mode, noise is naturally suppressed to result in a classic response; in Gate mode, noise is immediately cut off for a more abrupt response; and, in Mute mode, you gain complete silence. A send/return loop has also been fitted for hooking up and reining in noisier effect pedals and, as a neat plus, this Boss offering is compatible with bass guitars as well as electric guitars.

The NS-1X outstrips the NS-2 on a few levels. The first obvious addition is the colour-coded LED system, which clearly indicates the noise suppression level, so you know exactly what's happening to your signal at all times. Another difference is that the NS-1X uses advanced MDP (Multi-Dimensional Processing) technology to help retain even more detail and nuance - which is immediately noticeable as soon as you start messing around with the Damp, Threshold and Decay pots.
