Going way further than just removing unwelcome noise, the multifunctional KMA Machines Pylon ATB Noise Gate hands guitarists detailed control over their sound. Next to an ultra-fast noise gate, you gain access to an integrated boost section that can apply up to 37 decibels of extra gain. Thanks to the built-in external trigger input and FX loop, this pedal can be integrated into your rig every which way - even using the four-cable method and, to assure you of sublime build quality, every Pylon is built with love and care in Berlin, Germany.
The KMA Machines Pylon: The Ultimate Gatekeeper
Any guitarist working with extra drive, gain or distortion has to fight against extra, unwelcome noise. Since the KMA Machines Pylon houses a high-quality Blackmer® VCA circuit, it responds to any noise at lightning speeds. Flip the mini-switch to select one of two detection ranges, where High mode is ideal for allowing notes and chords to die off naturally, and Low mode is perfect for backing up fast palm-muting. Twist the Threshold pot to find your preferred sweet-spot and, as a smart detail, the central status LED changes from white to blue whenever the noise gate is active.
Built-in Boost
While the Boost mini-pot sets the gain amount, the Cut mini-pot can be rolled to the right to tighten up the basses and prevent rhythms from sounding too muddy, where the 65Hz to 730Hz frequency range retains a strong mid-range, ensuring that you're sound still cuts through the mix and your preamp is given an extra push. Three Boost modes are also on offer: On, Off or Sync - where the third option synchronises the boost with the gate. To finish, the Pylon pushes your signal through a specific set of transformers that strengthen the sound with warm basses, while a ground lift switch has also been fitted - just in case.
