The SKB Static Shock Rack 6U is a complete 19-inch shock-mount rack transport case designed for the safe transport of delicate rack-mounted equipment. The floating internal structure significantly reduces shocks and vibrations, ensuring your equipment remains better protected during transport. The case is lightweight yet built to withstand intensive touring and hire use. Furthermore, this case is water- and dust-tight and resistant to heat and chemicals, making it suitable for a wide range of environments, from the stage to the truck pack.

Internal rack structure compliant with EIA standards

The internal chassis is constructed from strong, lightweight aluminium alloy extrusions and fitted with 11-gauge hot-rolled carbon steel rack rails that comply with the EIA-310 standard. You get a standard 19-inch rack width (EIA/ECA-310-E) with square-hole rails. This allows you to use both #10-32 (US) and 6 mm (international) cage nuts, which are included. The 20-inch rail-to-rail rack depth is ideal for many common pieces of equipment, whilst the frame provides sufficient ‘sway’ for air circulation and heat dissipation.

Robust outer shell, stackable and expandable

The outer shell is rotomoulded LMDP (Linear Medium Density Polyethylene) and meets or exceeds MIL-STD 810H for extra strength and impact resistance. The case features 2-inch-deep front and rear lids, ensuring that even longer rack equipment often fits without difficulty. It also features recessed, black powder-coated stainless steel hardware, four spring-loaded comfort-grip handles, an automatic pressure relief valve and gasket-sealed lids with lid hangers. It can be stacked with SKB 3RR and 3RS cases (and similar models). Wheels are not included as standard; the SKB 3RR-RCB caster platform, amongst others, is an option.
