The SKB Static Shock Rack 7U is a complete transport case for 19-inch rack-mounted equipment, designed to safely transport sensitive electronics from A to B. The internal shock-mount suspension system reduces shocks and vibrations during transport, ensuring your amplifiers, processing, wireless or recording gear remains better protected. The case is lightweight yet built for heavy-duty use in touring and hire. It is also water- and dust-tight and resistant to heat and chemicals, ensuring your rack remains well protected even in challenging conditions.

Internal shock mount and EIA-compliant rack construction

The interior consists of a strong, lightweight chassis made from aluminium alloy extrusions, combined with 11-gauge hot-rolled carbon steel rack rails that comply with the EIA-310 standard. It features a standard 19-inch rack width (EIA/ECA-310-E) and a rail-to-rail rack depth of 20 inches. The square-hole rails are compatible with both #10-32 (US) and 6 mm (international) cage nuts; these are supplied. Eight elastomer isolators provide damping and are rated as standard for a payload of 40 to 150 lb.

Tour-grade exterior, stacking and options

The rotomoulded LMDP (Linear Medium Density Polyethylene) outer shell meets or exceeds MIL-STD 810H and is renowned for its high impact resistance. The front and rear lids are 2 inches deep, so even longer rack-mounted equipment will often fit. You get recessed, black powder-coated stainless steel hardware, four spring-loaded comfort-grip handles, an automatic pressure relief valve and gasket-sealed lids with lid hangers. Stacking is possible with SKB 3RR and 3RS cases (and similar cases). Wheels are not fitted as standard; an alternative option is the SKB 3RR-RCB caster platform, amongst others.
