If Nino Percussion (Meinl's child-oriented brand) has one thing in common with children, it's a sense of unbridled adventure. That's why they create countless unusual (yet very simple) percussion instruments, in all shapes and sizes. The red Nino Percussion NINO940R Sand Blocks are a great example of this. They're two red blocks of wood with a sandpaper layer on one side, allowing for two distinctly different sounds. Rubbing them together produces a shaker-like sound, and striking them against each other produces more of a clave-type sound. All in all, it's a unique instrument that has plenty of educational value.

Tuesday 19 January 2016The sooner you start, the better! Introduce your kids to rhythm and melody in a fun and accessible way, and lay the foundation for the rest of their musical lives! Instruments by Nino Percussion, like their sand blocks, kalimbas en wah-wah tubes are made especially for small children. While they're child-proof, they're much more than simple toys!
