General

The ATR-4502 is yet another innovative product from the renowned Koch company. It is probably the lightest and most compact power amp on the market yet delivers 90 watts (or 2x 45 watts stereo) of tube sounds. The ATR-4502 has two power amps on board that are comparable to those found in the successful Jupiter combos. For each channel a 12AX7 tube is used in combination with Koch's own Authentic Tube Response technology for convincing tube sounds.

The ATR-4502 and the Pedaltone II

The highly reliable Koch ATR-4502 combines perfectly with the tube-powered Pedaltone II preamp stomp box. The power amp fits, together with a 19-inch effects unit, in a small 2U rack housing. Connect the Pedaltone preamp and other effects and you'll have all the sounds you need. The ATR-4502 has outputs for connecting a stereo 4, 8, or 16-ohm cabinet, or a mono 8 or 16-ohm cabinet.

Ik heb deze amp gebruikt combinatie met een Line6 POD HD en een Engl 2x12 cabinet. De amp geeft een mooi warm geluid, met een dikke low-end. Ik vond de amp te veel ruis geven. Daarvoor contact gehad met Koch zelf, die gaven aan een buizen amp altijd wat ruis geeft. Voor mij was het echt te veel, dus ik ben uiteindelijk voor een transistor poweramp gegaan in plaats van deze met buizen.

De Koch ATR-4502 gebruik ik in combinatie met de Kemper Profiler en een Paul Lenders Club Cab. Deze combinatie is echt top. De koch heeft een mooi warm en helder geluid. Stuwend en een gedefineerd laag. Veel versterkers produceren een wollig geluid in het laag, De Koch niet !!! Mooie mid en hoog. En.....oerhard!!! De voicing-schakelaars: presence en depth zijn een hele mooie toevoeging. Ik ben er heel blij mee.
