Thanks to the clean and intuitive, Blackstar style control layout and integrated OLED display, navigating the range of options this tight unit has to offer and building your own sound profiles is made as easy as pie. To lay the groundwork, simply select one of three different voicings: USA gives you dynamic and bright cleans with solid basses and a tightened mid-range; UK is ideal for the low-to-medium gains needed to support cleans or warm overdrives and delivers a responsive crunch; and Classic gives you Blackstar's own passive tone stack, guaranteeing big chords to back up powerful rhythms. From there, the response of the power amp is set by picking out an EL34, EL84 or 6L6 emulated valve, where every setting shapes its own character, so you're basically flipping though every amp flavour you can think of.

Built-In Multi-Effects Plus CabRig Simulation

Besides the impressive range of foundation sounds on offer, the Dept. 10 Amped 2 serves up a massive stack of built-in effects which can be tweaked in detail using the Blackstar Architect software. Among others, you're set up with three different delays, three different reverbs, choruses, flangers, tremolos and phasers. This expansive pedal also comes equipped with a low-latency USB port complete with CabRig simulation tech, which is also applied to the XLR output and the jack line output - which, of course, doubles as your headphone output.
