General
The Octopre MKII Dynamic is equipped with eight prize-winning preamplifiers by Focusrite, and can be connected with your current sound interface via ADAT. With this device you can record a complete band in one go! And while you're recording, instead of taxing your computer with a heavy compression plugin, you can get just the right amount of compression with the Dynamic function.
The microphone inputs have plenty of gain, and are optimised to take super-extreme sound sources without clipping. That means that recording acoustic drums won't be a problem! Furthermore, the built-in compressor features a classic soft-knee design that gets the job done without mushing your sounds together. Focusrite's More switch has also been added, which doubles the ratio and brings more compression-like effects to the mix.
When it comes to connectors, you'll find eight combined XLR/jack inputs on the back of the device. The first two channels feature a DI, so you can easily plug in your guitar or bass for recording. The Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic is ideal for analogue-to-digital conversion by connecting it to the ADAT input on your sound interface, and it's also equipped for digital-to-analogue conversion. Thanks to the ADAT inputs and TRS jack outputs, you can monitor any digital ADAT input. Finally, the Dynamic is also equipped with a stable internal clock as well as a wordclock input and output.
