General
The Digital MPA II has the same host of functions offered by the PRO MPA II but comes with the added extra of digital outputs. Besides the analogue outputs, send digital signals with adjustable sample rates and add this unit seamlessly to a hybrid, AES/EBU, S/PDIF or ADAT capable setup. Besides the analogue and digital connections, the MPA II has a Wordclock input and output that comes with a list of uses including looping for optimum signal synchronisation.
The MPA II Tube Preamplification
The Digital MPA II is fitted with a high-quality 12AX7 that will inject its vintage warmth and fuzziness into any instrument or microphone signal. For precise experimentation with subtle colour and nuance, the microphone impedance and tube drive can be adjusted in detail and to noticeably accentuate the signal from a ribbon or condenser. Via equally vintage-style VU-meters, you get a constant and faithful update on both the drive level and tube temperature.
Construction and Controls
The robust metal casing of the Digital MPA II, while built for studio work, is solid enough for live broadcasting. The guts of this unit are just as robust and this is obvious when you start looking at the control panel since both channels have independent controls and a semi-symmetrical layout for the optimum overview.
