Galder, known as lead guitarist of the Norwegian metal rockers Dimmu Borgir, designed this delightfully sober and yet stylish shredder in collaboration with ESP/LTD - a heavy roaring asymmetrical two-legged monster called LTD SHADOW. This guitar has a satin-gloss black body with a pentagram print, fully in line with Dimmu Borgir's household style. On the fretboard, there are triangular position markers and a type number inlay at the 22nd fret.

The SHADOW with EMG 81 pickup

The LTD's body - made from the powerfully, deeply resonant mahogany by the way - is home to an active EMG 81 pickup. This is a famously high-output pickup that screams out in an incredibly balanced way. Additionally, the neck-through-body construction of this guitar provides it with lengthy sustain and proper attack. Another, very welcome, metal feature is the Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo, which bends the tones this way and that effortlessly. The slender neck and extra-large frets allow for incredibly fast solos as well as smooth riffs.
