General
The Fender Cabronita Telecaster has the same tough hotrod look as the unattainable hand-built La Cabronita Especial from the Feder Custom Shop. This version was made in Mexico, making it more affordable and hence more accesible. Cabronita means little villain and that is sort of true for this Tele, as it not only has a free-spirited minimalistic look but also two Gretsch-style pickups to give it an agressive sound.
The Fender Cabronita Telecaster, a closer look
This Fender Cabronita Telecaster in White Blonde has (unlike the Black and 3-colour sunburst versions) an ash body, providing clearer trebles and fatter basses than the alderwood bodies. The body has a beautiful finish with a vintage-style transparent white lacquer that still allows you to see the marvellous grain of the wood. The neck has a comfortable C-profile and is made of a single piece maple. The modern 9.5-inch radius has 22 medium jumbo frets for perfect comfort while playing.
A Tele with an attitude
The two Fedeli'Tron humbuckers on this Fender Cabronita produce a nice fat sound, without diminishing the characteristic Telecaster sparkle and bite. The bridge pickup produces a bright and fierce sound that cuts through any mix, ideal for a wide range of music-styles from country to punk and even hardrock. The neck pickup balances this by producing a delightfully warm sound that is perfectly suited for jazzy chords and bluesy licks. The Strat-style hardtail bridge with a strings-through-body design lets you benefit from a hefty bit of sustain and a neat, direct tone.
