Product no: 9000-0016-0048 Bax Music Warranty: This product comes with a 3-year warranty.

General

With the NS 7 3, Numark builds on the popular MK 2 version of their flagship DJ controller. The controller still combines the best of both worlds: its offers the features and functionality of Serato DJ software, as well as the feel and response of an authentic turntable. Thanks to the addition of visual Serato DJ feedback in real-time via 4.3-inch full-colour displays, the NS 7 III has set the bar even higher for its competitors.

Visual support

Just like Numark's ground-breaking NV controller, the NS7 3 is equipped with two displays that provide visual support. Positioned at the top of the control panel at a slight tilt, they offer information about waveforms, playhead, deck and FX status. Between these two there's a third display that shows you your music library or, alternatively, parallel waveforms for optimal control of active programs. As these displays provide you with all the information you need, you can keep your laptop out of sight.

Design

The NS7 III is a four-channel audio mixer with a fully metal housing, touch-sensitive controls and the same Akai MPC performance pads as the NS 7 2. The MIDI controller's exterior is mostly black, but features some stylish silver accents on the pads and equalizer section. Coloured LEDs provide a nice contrast with the overall dark looks, and all connectors have been discretely worked into the design, resulting in a sleek, industrial appearance. A full version of Serato DJ software is included and the controller is Serato NoiseMap ready.

Numark NS7 III DJ MIDI controller

Wrote the following about Numark NS7 III DJ MIDI controller
First I had turntables and mixer then I had a long string of controllers:
Behringer BCD3000, Kontrol X1, Novation Twitch, Midifighter, Vestax VCI380, Vestax VCI400, DDJ-SX, DDJ-SX2, NS72 and finally....
The NS7 3, the best controller of all.
Coming from someone raised on turntable that likes to mix genres/bpms there is simply no other controller on the market has the same feel.

Pros:
- best platters out there
- really good pad implementation
- screen very handy for FX select/param info/track browse
- looks legit, nicely spaced, built like a tank

Cons:
- very heavy, hard to travel with (you need a case and trolley, i use the magma DDJSZ casey)
- FX LEDs a little dim
- line levels are red/white instead of normal green/yellow/red
- Numark/InMusic support is not ideal
- no filter/fx routing to external audio in - not an issue if you stick to SDJ and just use audio in as a backup

As of october 2016 you can get similar functionality with DDJ-SZ/SX2, Denon MCX-8000, Roland DJ-808
+ Numark Dashboard.

Think long and hard if you will still use it out given the weight! It is a trade off, weight for awesome platters. It is the opposite of a small modular controller like an X1. This is the (literally) heavy artillery! That said, every time I end up DJing a party etc where I make the effort to bring it along I remember why I like it so much, its just so much fun!
