In addition to the original blue Babyface, RME offers a silver edition of the 22-channel USB 2.0 audio interface. Besides its colour, the Silver Edition boasts the same functions and durable aluminium housing as its blue predecessor. It's ideal for use in studios and rehearsal spaces, and is a great asset for live bands and DJs alike.
The Babyface: functionality
RME's silver Babyface interface features an instrument input, as well as an internal microphone preamplifier with a 48-volt phantom power supply. To keep the Babyface as compact as possible, RME fitted the interface with a breakout cable with two balanced XLR audio inputs, two balanced audio outputs and a MIDI I/O. The audio interface itself is fitted with a Hi-Z instrument input, a stereo headphone output and an optical ADAT or S/PDIF input/output.
