The Cakewalk (Roland) Mobile Studio Canvas sound module is ideal for musicians, producers and composers who are looking for a complete solution for their recording, sound and audio interface needs.

The sounds of the Mobile Studio Canvas have been designed by Roland. In this module, you can hear the result of 30 years of experience. Among its 1125 presets, you will always find a sound that suits your requirements, regardless of your production or composing style. At your disposal are a polyphony of 128 voices, GM2, GS, and 32 drum kits. All of these sounds can be edited by means of internal digital effects.

The Mobile Studio Canvas serves as a complete music production studio for recording purposes as well. It is equipped with a high-quality MIDI interface and a high-grade, 2-in, 2-out, 24-bit, 44.1kHZ audio interface. Two inputs, one of which is a phantom-powered XLR microphone input, are at your disposal.

Once you have connected the sound module to your Mac or Windows computer via USB, you can use the accessory Cakewalk Sonar LE production software to record, edit and mix your projects. Naturally, this module is compatible with any DAW, such as Logic, Protools, Ableton and Cubase.

Wrote the following about Roland SD-50 Mobile Studio Canvas sound module

Ik was me al een tijdje aan het oriënteren op een uitbreiding van het aantal beschikbare geluiden van muziekinstrumenten. Ik heb meerdere (enigszins gedateerde) keyboards, die het overigens nog prima doen. Aan toetsen dus geen gebrek.

Uiteindelijk heb ik eind 2014 deze geluidsmodule bij Bax-shop.nl gekocht. Het betrof een B-stock product. Meestal koop ik bij voorkeur compleet nieuwe producten. De korting was nu echter zo aantrekkelijk, dat ik de gok wel durfde te wagen. De levering was prima en bij het uitpakken van de doos trof ik de Studio Canvas in perfecte conditie aan.

De module is zeer makkelijk in gebruik. Door de grote keuze aan goed vormgegeven geluiden is het soms lastig een keuze te maken. Met name de specitaatl voor deze module samengestelde "Preset" geluiden, evenals de 3 "Solo" geluiden zijn een genot om mee te werken. De akoestische piano geluiden klinken jammer genoeg bij de hogere partijen wat hol.

De bijgeleverde Canvas SONAR 8.5 maakt het geheel compleet!
