This drum set in Natural Quilted Bubinga is a special, limited edition model in the successful Starclassic Performer series. The set consists of four pieces: a 22-inch bass drum, 10 and 12-inch toms and a 16-inch floor tom. The shells are made of a special combination of wood types. The 6mm-thick toms are made of four plies of birch and three plies of bubinga. The bass drum has an extra ply of birch, which makes it 7mm thick instead of 6. Birch has been used to make drums for years, because this wood type ensures a powerful sound. By combining this with bubinga, Tama has given the shells a percussive sound with a fantastic low end. This limited edition drum set has a Quilted Bubinga finish, which shows off the beautiful structure of the bubinga. The hardware on all the shells is finished in black nickel, giving the kit a unique look.
High-quality drum set
Tama chose to use the Fast Clamp system on this shell set. With these clamps, you can easily attach your toms to any cymbal stand, while the toms are equipped with the StarCast mounting system, allowing the toms to resonate freely. Furthermore, Tama has fitted the floor tom legs with special air chambers. This prevents the sustain of your tom from disappearing into the ground, while providing enhanced stability. The sturdy bass drum claw hooks are fitted with a rubber lining, so they won't damage your bass drum, which also prevents the tension bolts from rattling when you tune the bass drum quite loose.
