The VOX Satchurator is the ultimate Joe Satriani guitar sound in a compact pedal. This analogue distortion pedal ranges from subtle blues distortion to classic rock and high-gain, and was designed following the exact specifications of the guitar virtuoso himself. The Saturator offers new functions and improvements that have never been combined in one distortion pedal before.
VOX Satchurator: versatility and user-friendliness
With this pedal you have gain, tone and volume controls at your disposal for adjusting your sound. The gain controls the amount of distortion, and you can use the tone control to change the sound from dark to bright. A PAD switch makes it possible to avoid irritating noises that might occur when you use other high-gain pedals in combination with the Satchurator. 'More' offers that extra boost when you need it. Chicken head knobs provide for detailed adjustments and better visibility on dark stages.
Satchurator doesn't settle for less
You can get a glorious amount of gain from the VOX Satchurator, though the pedal is also quieter and more musical that most modern distortion pedals, and your attacks are maintained so you can enjoy more articulated playing. Met de More-knop geeft je distortion extra boost of crunch, een soort extra overdrive functie.
De Pad-switch, kan van nut zijn indien vóór de Satchurator een pedaal zoals bijv. een Wah Wah aangesloten is. Dit soort pedalen hebben de neiging om los van het leveren van een effect ook het totale geluid te beinvloeden omdat ze redelijk noisy kunnen zijn. Middels de Pad-switch wordt dit effect schijnbaar geneutraliseerd
Ik kon zelf het verschil niet merken door aan deze switch te zitten, echter is mij verteld dat dit wel een gunstig effect heeft bij heel hoge volumes op het podium
De Vox Satchurator is robuust en estetisch gezien best mooi om te aanshouwen (rood met witte knoppen)
Deze pedaal is goed te gebruiken tijdens repetitites of 'live'.
Let wel op dat je niet alle knopjes opengooit, hierdoor houd je niets meer over voor eventuele boosts tijdens het solo-werk.Het lijkt dan alsof je boostpedaal, mocht je die in je effectenketen hebben, geen punch meer kan geven aan je signaal.
Het is ook aan te raden om iets als een noise surpressor te gebruiken daar deze pedaal redelijk veel bijgeluiden heeft is als die staat ingeschakeld.
Ga er niet direct er van uit dat je bij het aanscaffen van deze pedaal dat je precies zoals Joe Satriani gaat klinken. Echter kun je er wel van uitgaan dat je met dit pedaal een goed en stevig distortion sound kunt produceren ongeacht je niveau of andere gitaar hardware.
Het is eenvoudig aan te sluiten, en je kunt aan de knoppen draaien en beginnen met het zoeken naar jou 'killersound'
