The BP-L2 is a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery that can serve as a replacement battery for the TASCAM DR-1 and DR-100 recorders. If the original battery of your recorder wears out, you can safely replace it with the BP-L2. Of course it's also practical to have two batteries - always keep a spare one handy for the next recording.
